Work to install 200 solar panels on a school’s roof is set to begin after plans were given the go-ahead.
In July, St Clement Danes School in Chorleywood submitted an application to install 160 panels on one area of pitched roof at its site and 40 on another section that is part of the same classroom building in July.
Three Rivers District Council judged that prior approval was required for the installation to go ahead and granted that approval yesterday (September 30).

Its decision notice stated that it had no issues with the design and external appearance of the development and that the 435-watt panels would not cause any harmful impact from glare on neighbouring land.
According to Heatable, it requires around 10 to 15 350-watt solar panels to power an average UK home.
Chorleywood Parish Council was consulted over the plan and raised no objection.
Danes Educational Trust COO Dominic Richards said: "I am excited to be installing solar panels at St Clement Danes School as part of our heat decarbonisation plans and sustainability initiatives.
"This solar installation is part of a wider project which will also see some gas boilers upgraded to more sustainable air source heat pumps and is part funded by a successful application to the public sector decarbonisation scheme.
"Future sustainability work planned for the school is an upgrade of lighting to more energy efficient LED.and similar sustainable projects are planned for all trust schools."
