Orders are due to come into force this week that will authorise the closure of several streets in and around Watford.

Herts County Council has published its intention to close lengths of roads including Rosslyn Road, Langley Road and Cassiobury Park Avenue in the Public Notice Portal.

The portal is used to access all of the upcoming and recent information about various restrictions and notices.

Here are five temporary closures from a notice we’ve rounded up which could affect residents in Watford:

Rosslyn Road – traffic management measures

Herts County Council is intending to make an order to authorise the following to allow roadworks to be carried out:

- To prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Rosslyn Road, Watford from its junction with A412 Rickmansworth Road south eastwards to its junction with Halsey Road, a distance of approximately 59m, except for access.

- To temporarily suspend the existing one-way traffic system on Rosslyn Road from its junction with A412 Rickmansworth Road south eastwards to its junction with Upton Road, a distance of approximately 277m, to enable all vehicles to travel in both directions, whilst works are in progress.

If made, the order will come into force on Tuesday and be valid for up to 18 months but restrictions will only apply at times shown on signs at or near the road.

Langley Road – temporary closure

The county council is intending to make an order to prevent vehicles from using the northbound carriageway of Langley Road, Watford from its junction with A411 Hempstead Road north eastwards for a distance of approximately 30m.

This is to allow telecoms maintenance works to be carried out.

This order, if made, will come into force on Tuesday and be valid for up to 18 months but the restrictions will only apply at times shown on signs at or near the road.

Cassiobury Park Avenue – temporary closure

An order is intended to be made by the county council to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the eastbound carriageway of Cassiobury Park Avenue, Watford from a point 30m north west of its junction with A412 Rickmansworth Road south eastwards to its junction with A412 Rickmansworth Road, a distance of approximately 30m, to enable a gas main to be replaced.

This order, if made, will take effect from Tuesday and be valid for up to 18 months but the restrictions will only apply at times shown on signs at or near the roads.

Garston Lane/The Gossamers – temporary closure

The county council is intending to make an order to prohibit vehicles from using Garston Lane, Meriden/The Gossamers, Watford from its junction with Bramfield north eastwards and south eastwards to its junction with Falcon Way, a distance of approximately 104m, except for access.

The order is needed to allow railway bridge inspection works to be carried out.

If made, the order will come into force on Wednesday and be valid for up to 18 months but restrictions will only apply at times indicated on signs at or near the road.

St Georges Road – temporary closure

An order is intended to be made by Herts County Council to prevent motorists from using St Georges Road, Watford from its junction with The Harebreaks north eastwards and north westwards to its junction with Fuller Road, a distance of approximately 199m, except for access to allow roadworks to take place.

This order, if made, will take effect from Thursday and be valid for up to 18 months but the restrictions will only apply at times shown on signs at or near the road.
