- The M1 is currently closed northbound between junction 5, near Watford, and junction 6, near Bricket Wood, for emergency resurfacing.
- The resurfacing is now complete but the road surface still needs to set and be white lined, according to National Highways.
- A diversion route has been put in place.
- A National Highways spokesperson said: "We had a report of damage to the northbound road surface of the M1 between J5-6 shortly before 2am.
- "This required resurfacing, which we carried out and had the road fully open at 7.48am."
