Train lines are blocked from Watford Junction and a road is closed near a railway bridge after a person was hit by a train.

Southern Rail has confirmed that a person has been hit between Shepherd's Bush and Watford Junction this afternoon after major disruption on the railway was first reported at around 12.42pm today (September 26).

There is currently a large emergency services presence at Bushey Station and Herts Police have closed Little Oxhey Lane. The road is shut between St George's Drive and Cherry Hills, where the railway bridge is, as part of the emergency services response.

Major disruption is expected to continue until the end of the day, with many trains through Watford Junction currently cancelled and those that do run are likely to be delayed by up to 90 minutes.

London Overground services are currently unable to operate between London Euston and Watford Junction. Avanti West Coast, London Northwestern Railway, and Southern Services have been disrupted.

Rail replacement transport is operating between Milton Keynes Central and Harrow & Wealdstone in both directions. Ticket acceptance is in place across multiple operators.
