Two daytime road closures in Watford near a school and a railway bridge are expected to cause delays over two days.

O2 is set to carry out utility repair and maintenance works under a full road closure in Langley Road, between Nascot Wood Junior and Infant schools and Hempstead Road, between 9.30am and 4pm on Tuesday (October 1).

According to traffic website One Network, this is “likely” to cause delays while the road is shut.

A diversion will take motorists around the “essential utility works”, via Stratford Road, The Avenue, Hempstead Road. The pavement will be blocked but a pedestrian walkway will be provided.

The Abbey Line railway bridge where Garston Lane becomes the Gossamers will be closed from 9.30am to 3.30pm, the next day.

Network Rail is apparently undertaking works “for rail purposes”, which are again “likely” to cause delays.

No diversion route has been specified. The footway will not be closed.
