A Chorleywood care home has been awarded for its "exceptional nutritional care."
Burford House Care Home received the Gold Award from the HILS nutrition awareness team following a re-screening audit in September 2024.
The award recognises the care home's "dedication to providing exceptional nutritional care" to its residents.
The care home achieved 100 per cent accuracy in the Malnutrition Universal Screening Tool (MUST) scoring, surpassing the 95 per cent required for accreditation.
A spokesperson for Burford House said: "The Gold Award from HILS is more than just an accolade; it reflects the hard work and dedication of the entire team at Burford House Care Home.
"Together, the team will continue striving for excellence in nutritional support, ensuring residents lead fulfilling and healthy lives."
The audit, conducted by Hertfordshire NHS, evaluates care homes based on the Care Quality Commission’s (CQC) five standards of care: safe, well-led, responsive, caring, and effective.
The care home was praised for its nutrition care plans, comprehensive MUST documentation, individualised care for special diets, and fortified nutritional support.
It was also commended for its staff knowledge and training, engaging dining experiences, active resident involvement, and ongoing training and follow-up assessments.
Burford House is operated by Westgate Healthcare Group Ltd.
