A man was left with a fractured cheekbone after he was attacked in a “nasty” road rage run-in.

Hertfordshire Police are appealing for witnesses over the row in the Link Road, Hemel Hempstead, between 1.40pm and 1.50pm on Saturday, September 21.

A black Volvo XC90 was travelling from Leighton Buzzard Road in the direction of Redbourn Road when the driver reportedly started “continually brake checking” a silver Vauxhall Corsa.

When the two cars were between the two junctions to Shenley Road, near The Melings, the Volvo driver stopped in front of the other car, got out and attacked the other driver.

Police said a member of the public then intervened, while a second person is also thought to have got out of the Volvo and got involved.

PC Jake Smith said: “This was a nasty incident in which the victim sustained a fractured cheekbone. We are trying to trace a man who intervened at the time and anyone else who saw the incident or who was driving in the area and had a dash cam in operation at the time.”
