Residents in a Watford street are set to have to pay to park their car under proposals to extend a controlled parking zone.
Watford Borough Council has published its intention in the Public Notice Portal to extend a parking zone to include King Georges Avenue.
The portal is used to access all of the upcoming and recent information about various restrictions and notices.
Meanwhile, Three Rivers District Council is set to introduce ‘ticketless’ parking in its car parks in place of the current ‘pay and display’ system.
Here are four public notices we’ve rounded up which could affect residents in Watford and the Three Rivers district.
King Georges Avenue – extension of controlled parking zone
Residents in King Georges Avenue will have to pay to park their car if proposals to extend a controlled parking zone (CPZ) are approved.
Watford Borough Council is planning to introduce the CPZ measures in the road by extending the existing Zone T.
The operational hours of the CPZ are: Monday to – Saturday, 8am to 6.30pm; Match days only Monday to Friday, 8am - 10pm, Saturday & Bank Holiday 8am to 6.30pm, and Sunday 1pm to 6.30pm.
From this month, it costs £31 for a first full-time CPZ residents’ permit and £31 for a second one.
Three Rivers District – ‘ticketless’ payments in car parks
Three Rivers District Council is set to introduce 'ticketless' payments via 'pay at machine' and 'pay by phone' payment models where parking charges apply in its public off-street car parks.
These payment methods will replace the 'pay and display' model currently in use.
The new payment machines to be installed in car parks will not produce a ticket to be displayed, but instead make and transmit to the council (or its contractor) an electronic record of payment of the parking charge.
This electronic record will be used as proof of payment of the parking charge, and will be visible to civil enforcement officers patrolling the car parks via their hand-held devices, similar to way in which 'pay by phone' parking payment models operate at present.
