Three more people have been charged with attempted murder after a man was stabbed in Watford.

Herts Police found a man in his 20s with stab wounds after being called to an address in Brocklesbury Close at around 12.15am on Wednesday, July 24.

This morning (September 20), the force confirmed three new charges following their “extensive” investigation.

  • Desmond Bonato, 18, of Raphael Drive, Watford, was charged with attempted murder. He was remanded into police custody and will next appear at St Albans Crown Court on Thursday, October 17.
  • A 16-year-old boy from Greater London was charged with attempted murder. He was remanded pending a hearing at St Albans Crown Court on Monday, September 23.
  • A 16-year-old boy from Kent was charged with attempted murder. He was remanded pending a hearing at St Albans Crown Court on Monday, September 23.

It follows the arrest of Emmanjuel Nyanutenha, of Alwin Place, Watford, on July 25. The 18-year-old was later charged with attempted murder and remanded in custody. He is next set to appear at St Albans Crown Court, for trial, on January 20, 2025.

Detective Sergeant George Lewin said: “We have been working hard to secure four successful charges in connection with this incident, and can confirm we are not seeking anyone further at this time.”

The stabbing happened one day before a shooting on the A41 in Watford that left a man in his 20s in a “life-threatening” condition, which is also being linked with an assault in Meriden Park that day.

Herts Police previously confirmed they are treating the attacks as linked.

Watford Chief Inspector Andy Wiseman said: “I hope news of these charges provides reassurance to our local community that we will do all we can to keep our communities safe.

“If anyone has any information they wish to report, please don’t hesitate to contact us.”
