Motorists have been warned to avoid the area amid “long delays” due to planned roadworks.
Temporary traffic lights are in place on the A412 in Rickmansworth while UK Power Networks is installing a new service connection.
Drivers face delays of up to seven minutes on the road from Croxley Green and in nearby Chorleywood Road as a result, according to the AA, with average speeds of just 10mph.
In a post online, Herts Highways has warned motorists to avoid the area amid “long delays” due to the temporary lights.

The works are set to continue until September 30, with permission in place for the traffic lights until October 4.
Other roadworks:
Temporary lights are in place at the junction of Eastbury Road and Deacons Hill, near Oxhey Park, while Hertfordshire County Council has been refurbishing the permanent traffic signals since September 4 until Friday, October 4.
The roadworks are reportedly caused "mayhem" one morning all lights were stuck on red and traffic data shows that drivers faced delays for hundreds of metres approaching the junction at points.
