Once a Watford building is refurbished to “state of the art” laboratory standards, a company is lined up to move in.
Health Services Laboratories(HSL) has signed a 16-year lease for a 50,105-square-foot (around the same size as TK Maxx’s offices in Clarendon Road) clinical laboratory hub at Croxley Park, near Ascot Road.
Building seven is undergoing “substantial” renovation to bring it up to a Grade A standard for use as laboratories and will then receive patient samples from across the Hertfordshire and West Essex Integrated Care System(ICS).

HSL CEO David Byrne said: “We look forward to being able to base some of our Herts and West Essex(HWE) teams in our hub laboratories at Croxley Park, supporting the onsite laboratories based at NHS hospitals in the region.
“It’s a great location for the staff joining us from HWE and is an ideal space for HSL to create state of the art laboratories for our staff to provide patient care for the ICS.”
The company provides pathology services for NHS Trusts as a partnership between The Doctors Laboratory, Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust and University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
It joins companies including Smith and Nephew, Medtronic, and Glenmark at the business park.
