This site is now home to housing but until 14 years ago it was a place where thousands of further education students were taught in the past.

The Watford Observer has again teamed up with its friends at Watford Museum to look back at structures, objects or businesses from the town’s past that have either disappeared or been relocated and this week we remember Cassio Campus.

The museum’s volunteer archivist Christine Orchard said: “Cassio College (a name previously used by a college in Queens Road) used to be in Langley Road close to Church Road.

“In the 1990s three colleges, Cassio, Watford and Dacorum in Hemel, were linked together to form West Herts College.

“I believe Cassio Campus closed in summer 2010 and students transferred to the newly-built campus in Hempstead Road.

“Today the site of Cassio Campus has been redeveloped with new houses and flats.”
