Care home staff competed against colleagues in an annual sports day to the delight of their cheering residents.
Courtland Lodge, in Courtland's Close, Watford, hosted the outdoor challenges as they took on colleagues from Quantum Care's head office based in Welwyn Garden City.
The competitiveness, challenge songs and celebrations kept care home residents and their visitors entertained.
Councillor Dawn Allen-Williamson, chairwoman of Watford Borough Council, also came to cheer on the teams and, presented winners and medals and chatted with residents and staff at the home.
Games were wide and varied and included many favourites such as the tug of war, various relay races and a sack race which, to the delight of the cheering crowd, saw a number of tumbles.
Both teams took a break from the competition to share an outdoor lunch recently with everyone after. A hamburger eating competition was held, which came as a surprise to the competing individuals who had just wolfed down a large buffet meal.
The staff team at Courtland Lodge emerged as the victors by some considerable margin and the day ended with an award ceremony where councillor Dawn Allen-Williamson presented participants with medals.
A Courtland Lodge spokesperson said: "This was a fabulous day that was full of laughter and one that was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone there."
