The Metropolitan Police have confirmed why a helicopter was spotted hovering above Bushey “for ages”.
Residents questioned online why the aircraft was seen flying over Bournehall Avenue and Herkomer Road at around 9.45pm on Saturday (September 7), as one said: “It's so loud and is doing my head in! Been going on for ages now!”
Another commented that “lots of police” had also been seen at the former Bushey Country Club in High Street.
A Metropolitan Police spokesperson has now confirmed that officers on patrol in Bounds Green, North London, spotted a vehicle at around 9.30pm on Saturday which had previously failed to stop for police.

Officers followed the car until it stopped in the Bushey Country Club car park around 15 minutes later, while the helicopter was in the area at the time and was called to assist.
Police said that after speaking to the driver, it was established that the vehicle was a hire car and they had not been driving it on the previous occasion.
One of the occupants was searched, which uncovered a small amount of cannabis and was resolved “via community resolution”, and there were no arrests.
