Two people were hospitalised after a crash that closed roads for hours.
At around midday yesterday (September 8), the Watford Police social media channels warned motorists to “avoid the area of Sandy Lane and Batchworth Lane, Northwood” because road closures were in place.
Herts Police have now confirmed, this morning, that they had been called to reports of a two-vehicle crash in Batchworth Lane at 11.18am.

Officers attended, putting the road closures in place and working alongside the ambulance service and Herts Fire and Rescue.
Both roads were reopened by 2.10pm, a police spokesperson added.
An East of England Ambulance Service spokesperson added: “We were called at 11.15am on Sunday September 8 to a road traffic collision on Sandy Lane in Northwood.
“Two ambulances, a rapid response vehicle and an ambulance officer vehicle were sent to the scene.
“Two patients were transported to Watford General Hospital for further assessment and treatment.”
