Cars have been serviced and repaired at this small garage in North Watford for the past century.
The Watford Observer has again joined forces with its friends at Watford Museum to look back at structures, objects or businesses from the town’s past that have either disappeared or been relocated and this week we remember Findell’s Garage.
The museum’s volunteer archivist Christine Orchard said: “There has been a motor-related business at 96 or 98 Cecil Street since at least 1929 - in this early period Arthur Redrup had a motor garage here and there was also a temporary Salvation Army Citadel.
“The business was still known as Redrup's Garage in the mid-1950s but by the mid-1960s it had become Findell's Garage.
“This photograph shows Findell's at 96-98 Cecil Street probably in the 1980s.
“I'm not sure when they closed but motor services continue at this address today.”
