Police will be clamping down on reports of intimidating behaviour around two Watford streets under their new priorities.

The town's neighbourhood policing teams have used public feedback and data to target three areas over the next four months.

Officers will be working to reduce street-related crime within The Parade and High Street, tackle intimidating and antisocial behaviour in and around Meriden Way and York Way, and boost safety in Cassiobury Park.

The force said residents can expect to see an increased police presence in each area, as well as engagement events and targeted enforcement.

Watford’s new set of priorities follows the previous list which included street drinking in and around St Mary’s Church Yard, the church car park and St Mary’s Road, antisocial behaviour in a section of St Albans Road, and drug dealing between Cassiobury Park and the Town Hall in Rickmansworth Road.

The force highlighted action over recent months including alcohol and drug seizures, metal detection searching, bike marking events, vehicle security checks, and high-visibility patrols.

Inspector Dan Jones said: “Thank you to everyone who took the time to tell us what you’d like to see us working on locally over the next few months.

“I hope residents have seen a positive difference in the areas we focused on during our last priority setting.”
