Herts Police have appealed for information after a “sickening” attack put a teenager in hospital.

Casey Murray was targeted in The Harebreaks, North Watford, at around 1.10pm on Sunday (September 1) and suffered an ABH-level head wound.

The suspect reportedly exited what is believed to have been a white Kia car before punching the victim, the force have confirmed.

Today (September 5), Inspector Daniel Jones said: "I'd like to thank everyone who has spoken to us so far. We are appealing to anyone who was in the area at the time and may have witnessed the assault to please come forward and contact police directly.

"I'm also particularly keen to hear from anyone who may have seen a white Kia in the area too.

“If you have information you believe will help, please email me at daniel.jones@herts.police.uk.”

Casey does not remember the attack and woke up on the floor with a man standing over him, as members of the public called police and an ambulance.

His mum added that he was left unconscious after being struck twice in the back of the head during the attack.

The 43-year-old said: “If you speak to anybody who knows him, he is the loveliest boy. He doesn’t get on the wrong side of anybody.

“I have four children and I’m concerned that they are going to go for his brother as well. It has left me angry and upset.

"The next time my phone rings I’m going to be worried about them or if it’s even worse. It makes me cry just to think about it."
