More than 450,000 people have watched a viral TikToker clean “the worst sign I have ever seen” in Watford.

Videos from The Sign Guy have received 6.9million likes as he travels around the south of England spraying dirt off road signs, with fans describing the short clips as “very satisfying”.

Earlier this week, the channel paid its third visit to Watford in just over a month, with the caption stating: “Had to revisit Watford today, I don’t know what’s happened to the signs in that area but they’re filthy.”

@cleanscenelondon This has to be the worst one ever!! Its so bad that it’s actually damaged the surface of the sign unfortunately. When i was driving up to it, I thought it was an LED sign that lights up because it was black, it was only till I got closer, I realised that its actually a normal sign so filthy that i could not read it 😂🫣 crazy!! #thesignguy #asmr #satisfyingvideo #oddlysatisfying #asmrsounds #signcleaning ♬ original sound - The Sign Guy

It follows a video published on July 7 which saw Liam Wildish (AKA The Sign Guy) on the A41, between the M25 and The Dome roundabout, cleaning a particularly bad example he initially thought “wasn’t even a sign”.

The 27-year-old said: “I’m just out cleaning some signs in Watford, and I think that in the five years that I have been doing sign cleaning I have found the worst sign I have ever seen.

“I have never seen a sign in a condition like this. I actually can’t read it.”

The former window cleaner sprays the dirt of off signs voluntarily. He explained that the mission started as a way to help the community while getting the word out about his business in local Facebook groups.

This proved very successful, with some of the videos going viral and leading Liam to find himself on the One Show, BBC News and Sky.

Despite no longer working as a window cleaner he has kept up his efforts because “I just find it rewarding”.

The Surrey resident now works as a self-employed spray painter, which takes him all around the M25. He therefore makes a note of particularly bad signs on his travels and comes back to clean them afterwards.

@cleanscenelondon Had to revisit Watford today, I dont know what’s happened to the signs in that area but they’re filthy!! Update coming soon also on The Sign Guy UK road trips! More Watford signs have since had visits for some TLC, particularly on the busy A41.

Working on around 500 signs around the country has apparently generated lots of comments about local councils from viewers, but Liam says he just sticks to doing his bit.

“I don’t ever take a political stand on it,” he added. “Whatever is going on in the political side is going on, whatever I do with the side is what I do.”
