Police have warned parents they could be fined as part of a crackdown on dangerous parking outside four schools.
A message from Dean Redhead, who supervises police community support officers in Abbots Langley, highlighted “unsafe parking practices during school drop off and pick up times” in the area as the new term gets underway.
The Abbots Langley Neighbourhood Policing Team apparently witnessed them while conducting patrols around Bedmond School, Tanners Wood JMI, St Pauls C of E, and The Divine Saviour Primary School.

“These practices, such as parking on yellow lines, zig-zag markings, in front of school entrances and blocking driveways or pedestrian crossings, create significant risks for children and pedestrians,” the officer said.
“They also cause unnecessary congestion, which can be particularly problematic for residents and emergency vehicles.”
Neighbourhood police and the Three Rivers Parking Enforcement Team will therefore be patrolling in school areas to monitor this.
The warning added that “where necessary” fixed penalty notices may be issued.
