A “sickening” attack in North Watford saw a teenager punched unconscious.

Herts Police were called to the assault in The Harebreaks near the St Helen's Roman Catholic Church at around 1.15pm on Sunday, September 1.

An eyewitness told the Watford Observer they saw someone around 17 to 18 years old get out of a large white four-by-four Kia to attack another boy in the road, while the adult female driver reportedly shouted "get out the car and do him”.

Update: the victim's mother has described her anguish after her "lovely" son was punched out cold in the attack. Read more here.

“This sickening attack was completely unprovoked and lasted about four to five minutes,” they added. “The car circled around the scene and left the victim lying on the floor unconscious.”

The attacker reportedly had brown hair and was wearing a purple football shirt with small white squares on the lower half, black shorts and long black socks. The female driver was described as a woman in her 40s with long brown curly hair.

Police confirmed the victim, a 17-year-old boy, suffered actual bodily harm (ABH) injuries and was rushed to hospital by ambulance. The East of England Ambulance Service has been contacted for more details.

They are not suspected to not be known to each other at this time, according to police, and no arrests have been made.
