In a post online, it shared before and after images of the stretch which has had potholes filled-in, a new surface laid and fresh road markings painted.
Closures will be in place from 8pm to 5am, although workers will abide by a midnight noise curfew for local residents. The main stretch of St Albans Road between Balmoral Road and Bedford Street, which was previously labelled “pothole city” by North Watford county councillor Asif Khan, will be resurfaced later in October.

St Albans Road was previously named one of the most dangerous for cyclists in Hertfordshire after it saw 16 minor accidents involving a person on a bicycle last year, according to research by eye surgery experts OCL Vision.
This placed it as the third most dangerous in the county with the junctions to Leggatts Wood Avenue, Brixton Road and Balmoral Road emerging as collision hotspots.
