Two long roads are set for resurfacing but another - where bus passengers say they feel like they are getting “whiplash” - is still waiting.
Sheepcot Lane and Horseshoe Lane in the Woodside area of Watford have been confirmed as being due for resurfacing this month.
Residents were delighted to be notified that the “seriously deteriorating” surfaces will be getting attention but raised concerns over the nearby High Road, which is also in a bad way.

High Road resident Nikki Jones described the potholes as “terrible” and said that the entire length of it needs to be resurfaced “as soon as possible”.
“My mum feels like she gets whiplash every time she goes down there on the bus,” she added.
Woodside county councillor Tim Williams said: “Whilst it is pleasing that Herts County Council will be completing resurfacing along two long roads in Woodside, after years of lobbying by local councillors, it is likewise disappointing that the High Road is not being resurfaced."
Cllr Williams, who is also on Watford Borough Council, added that the High Road is “crying out to be resurfaced” and that he will keep pushing for it to be done.
Resurfacing Sheepcot Lane – between the A405 and High Road - is due to start on Monday, September 16, with the council aiming to complete it by the Friday, working between 9.30am and 4pm each day.
Horseshoe Lane will be resurfaced between house numbers 258 and 9 over the days, with work taking place between 8pm and 5am.
During a recent visit to assess the state of the roads, Watford Liberal Democrat councillors, Tim Williams, Richard Wenham, Glen Saffery, and Ann Saffery, said there were "numerous" potholes in all three.
They shared their worry over the idea of High Road going through another winter without a fix despite its deteriorating state.
Hertfordshire County Council has been contacted for information on any plans to resurface High Road.
Update to follow.
