Drivers in and around the Watford area may experience delays to their journeys until the middle of September due to road closures and other roadworks.
Streets in Watford, Bushey Heath and Rickmansworth will be shut to vehicles for various lengths of time to allow works, including surfacing, to be carried out, while other roadworks are also planned on busy routes such as Watford Road.
The following information is sourced from the One.Network website and is a selection of the works scheduled to take place across our area until the middle of September:
- Delays are likely in Park Road, Rickmansworth, from 8am to 6pm, from Monday to September 16 for works by UK Power Networks. A lane closure will be in place between the Rickmansworth Station roundabout and the roundabout junction with High Street.
- Judge Street, Watford, will be shut to traffic from 8am to 6pm, from Monday to Friday, September 6 to allow UK Power Networks to install a new service connection.
- Clay Lane, Bushey Heath, will be shut to motorists from 8am to 4pm, from Monday to Wednesday for road surfacing works. Emergency access will be maintained at all times.
- Delays are likely in Watford Road, Croxley Green, from 9.30am to 3.30pm on Wednesday when a street lighting column is due to be replaced near to the junction with Harvey Road. Multi-way traffic lights will be in use.
- Micro-surfacing works mean Magnaville Road, Bushey Heath, will be shut from 9.30am to 4pm between Friday, September 6 and September 10. The closure will be in place from Clay Lane to Heathbourne Road and a diversion will be in operation. Emergency access will be maintained.
- Queens Road, Watford, is due to be shut to vehicles from 9.30am to 4pm, from September 9 to September 11 for roadworks. The closure will be in place from the junction of Orphanage Road to Radlett Road. A diversion will be in operation but emergency access will be maintained at all times.
- The Drive, Rickmansworth, will be closed to motorists between 9am and 4pm from September 10 to September 14 for roadworks. The closure will be in place from the junction with Nightingale Road to the junction with The Clump. A diversion will be in operation and emergency access maintained.
