Photos have offered the latest look at a petrol station rebuild after it took over a year for works to get started.
The Shell garage by The Dome roundabout was demolished after it closed in December 2022, but little progress was seen until the operator confirmed early this year that works would finally start in May.
The brownfield site has now seen significant progress as the new shop building appears to be complete in white and grey panelling with a glass frontage.
Six tall pillars have been installed to support the new canopy and the foundations of the forecast have started being laid. Much of the ground is still undeveloped with exposed pipes however, suggesting there is still a significant way to go until it is due to be completed in November.

Shell promised the rebuild would bring a larger shop, Karcher car wash, EV charge points as well as the same number of pumps for cars and trucks.
The operator blamed the delays on the site being closed for an "extended period of time" to perform “necessary remediation works” and demolish the existing structures.
Waitrose, which operated a Little Waitrose convenience store there, is expected to return when it reopens after the supermarket chain previously said it still had “a number of years” on its lease.
