The M1 was part-closed during rush hour this morning after a driver flipped her car on the motorway.
Herts Police were called at around 6.30am (August 23) to reports of a single-car crash northbound between junctions six and six A for St Albans.
A Ford Focus had overturned and come to rest on the hard shoulder, but the female driver had left the scene, possibly in another vehicle, before police arrived.

She has since been located by officers and was taken to hospital to be assessed, a force spokesperson said.
The crash forced the inside lane to close from 6.34am until 7.48am, although traffic was “coping well” and no delays were reported, according to the AA.

When asked why the driver left the scene and where she was later located, a police spokesperson said officers were still making enquiries.
Police have also warned drivers to avoid the area after Land Rover and a Ford Transit van crashed in Sarratt Road, Rickmansworth, at around 8.10am today.
The road is currently closed as officers attend the scene, as well as Hertfordshire Fire and Rescue and the East of England Ambulance Service. It is not yet known if anyone was injured.
