Students have achieved “significantly beyond expected levels” at a school which has celebrated 43 per cent top GCSE grades.

Independent day and boarding school St Margaret’s, in Merry Hill Road, Bushey, was “delighted” as its pupils picked up their results today (August 22).

It has announced that 43 per cent of entries were graded nine to seven, and 61 per cent nine to six.

Headteacher Lara Péchard said: “I’m so delighted for our Year 11 students, as always they have worked diligently with focus and determination throughout the duration of their studies, and they deserve every success.

“This year we have seen our Year 11 students progress significantly beyond expected levels, and this is testament to their admirable work ethic.

“It has been a privilege to support the cohort with their future pathways and we wish them all the very best for the future.”

It highlighted “standout students” such as Sophie, who secured grades nine to eight across all subjects, as well as Cassandra and Angela who achieved a clean sweep of nine to seven grades.

Performance was particularly strong in history, with 91 per cent of students receiving grades nine to six.

Across all three sciences 85 per cent of results were nine to six, while in art 78 per cent reached those levels.
