A two-bedroom Watford home could be turned into a six-person HMO under a new planning application.
The proposal submitted to Watford Borough Council yesterday (August 20) seeks to extend the property backwards and would see the interior Amberley Terrace property reworked.
It currently has a hallway, living/dining room, and kitchen on the ground floor but plans show the larger space following extension would have two bedrooms with en-suites and a kitchen/dining room.
The upstairs currently has two bedrooms, a bathroom and a study but would have another two bedrooms with en-suites and a small TV room if the council approves the proposal. Only the ground floor will be extended.
The building includes a garage at the side, which would not be changed under the designs.

Another plan refused
On the same day the planning application was submitted, the borough council refused planning permission for a small HMO in Gladstone Road, Watford, to be turned into a larger HMO with an extension in the roof.
Officers said that suitable refuse arrangements, cycle storage, and accommodation quality had not been demonstrated.
They added that the design of the extension would fail to harmonise with the rest of the building and the street scene.
