The police helicopter spotted above Watford this afternoon was searching the area after a crash, Herts Police have confirmed.
It happened at around 2.45pm in St Albans Road and saw the occupants of one of two involved vehicles - a Land Rover - get out and flee the scene.
Numerous police cars and the helicopter were spotted around North Watford as part of the search, following which the occupants were arrested a short time later.

There is limited information on the crash at this time and so it is not known whether anyone was injured or what the arrests on suspicion of. More information is expected to be released in the morning.
It came shortly after another crash nearby this afternoon, on the A41 between The Dome roundabout and A405. This caused the road to be partially blocked until around 2.38pm, but it does not appear that police were called.
