Built in 1953, a bungalow is now set for demolition after planning approval yesterday.
The building, in Highfield Way, Rickmansworth, is set to be replaced with a two-storey detached five-bedroom family home.
An attached garage was also part of the designs, submitted in May and then amended in June, as well as widening the driveway.

Chorleywood Parish Council had raised concerns over the scale of the proposed roof, distance from neighbours, and the carbon impact of demolishing a building rather than extending the existing bungalow, during the planning process.
One Highfield Way resident wrote in support of the application, highlighting that other nearby bungalow had already been converted, while another felt a larger building would encroach on neighbours’ space and privacy.
Ultimately, in its decision noticed published yesterday (August 15), Three Rivers District Council granted permission for the development to go ahead.
Floorplans show a study, reception, bathroom, pantry, open lounge/kitchen/dining room, utility room, playroom, and recycling room on the ground floor, four bedrooms and a dressing room on the first floor, and one bedroom and storage space on the roof level.
