A-level students at a Bushey secondary school have achieved top grades in over half of their subjects as the headteacher praised their “outstanding achievement”.
Immanuel College in Elstree Road said it was “proud” to announce that 59 per cent of all grades awarded were A* or A in this year’s set of result which were released today (August 15).
The proportion of A* grades has risen to 25 per cent from 14 per cent in 2023, while the number awarded stood at just 9.3 per cent across the UK.
Headmaster Dr Millan Sachania said: “Our students have shown outstanding achievement, which is a testament to their dedication, perseverance and ambition. Their excellence and potential is strongly evident and it fills me and my colleagues with justified pride today.
“They deserve hearty congratulations and we wish them our very best for their future paths”.

The school saw 83 per cent of students receive their first-choice destination for university, including “prestigious” Russell Group institutions such as Imperial College London, and the University of Bristol, Leeds, and Birmingham.
The school highlighted “top performing” student Jacob Kenley, who will read mechanical engineering at Imperial College in September after he earned an A* in all four subjects.
Immanuel College also praised its maths and economics departments after 47 per cent and 42 per cent were awarded top A* grades, while 100 per cent of further maths students achieved either A* or A.
