Half of all grades given to students at an “extremely proud” school were A* or A.
At independent day and boarding school St Margaret’s, in Merry Hill Road, 75 per cent of all grades were A* to B and 50 per cent were A* to A.
Headteacher Lara Péchard said: “It has been another busy and challenging year for our year 13 cohort, but as usual, they have risen to those challenges with resilience, courage and a focused approach to their studies.
“This year we have seen students excel in their A-Level results, with many securing top grades and that is testament to their determination and positive work ethic.
“It has been a privilege to support this year’s cohort with their future pathways and we wish them every success for the future.”

Particular students picked out for praise were Safiya, who achieved A*A*A* and will be studying biochemistry at King’s College London, Mahima, who also will be studying biochemistry at King’s after achieving A*AA, Aashi, who will be studying psychology at the University of Southampton with A*A*A* grades, Isra, who achieved A*A*A and will be studying medicine at the University of Bristol, and Sophia, who will go to UCL to study economics after receiving A*AA.
The school says it is bidding “a fond farewell” to its outgoing year 13s, with 72 per cent having secured a place at their first-choice setting.
