Watford Council has granted permission for a house to be turned into a six-bedroom HMO.
The Chester Way property was previously designated as a single home but can now be used to house up to six “unrelated individuals” after the borough council reached a decision yesterday (August 12).
Designs attached to the plan show that it will have two bedrooms or differing sizes on each floor, including the loft.
Three of the bedrooms are shown to have an en-suite and floorplans also include separate bathrooms on the ground and first floor.

A living room/kitchen area is included at the back of the ground floor, within an area recently added as an extension.
Turning it into a HMO was proposed as a permitted development, rather than requiring full planning permission, meaning the council was largely confirming whether the quality of life within it would fulfil nationally described standards.
The owner will still need to apply for a HMO licence for the address to actually house more than five people.
