Hertfordshire Police have arrested a woman and seized an air rifle after armed officers “swarmed” a house in Bushey.
Around 10 police officers with guns descended on Bournehall Road this afternoon (August 10) after police were called at 12.30pm to a concern for welfare report.
A police spokesperson has now confirmed: "Officers attended the scene, including armed police and the police helicopter as it was believed the person may have been in possession of a weapon.
"A woman was detained, and a search of the property was conducted. A weapon, believed at this time to be an air rifle, was located inside.
"The woman was subsequently arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm with intent to cause violence.
"We thank residents for their patience whilst we responded to the situation."
An eyewitness said the police presence centred around a property near The King Stag pub, adding: “About eight to ten armed police swarmed in the house and then they took the lady out to a van.
“They searched the house but when they came out they didn’t appear to have anything.”

Residents questioned online what was happened as multiple police cars and officers were picture in the road.
A police helicopter was also widely-seen circling around the town as far as the King George Recreation Ground before hovering over Bournehall Road.
The incident saw police shut the road for two hours until around 2.30pm while officers attended the incident, and High Street businesses confirmed that police had all left the scene by 3.30pm.
Update: The woman has been bailed with conditions while the investigation continues.
