Plans have been submitted to demolish a green belt home to build a larger house.

The owners of Green Tye in Loudwater Lane, Rickmansworth, have applied to knock down the existing three-bedroom property to replace it with a taller four-bed home.

The applicant admitted this meant it would be a “materially larger” house on paper, but said the basement would not be visible and would not harm the green belt surroundings as a result.

Although it is located within the green belt and the Chilterns Landscape Region, the owners claimed the design would respect the area’s rural character and the larger property would be hidden from the road.
