A road near a large supermarket in Watford is one of the roads set to be temporarily shut to allow roadworks to take place.

Herts County Council has published its intention to prevent vehicles from using the northern arm of Ascot Road near Morrisons supermarket in the Public Notice Portal to allow water connections works to be carried out.

The portal is used to access all of the upcoming and recent information about various restrictions and notices.

Here are four notices we’ve rounded up which could affect residents in Watford, Rickmansworth and Croxley Green.

Various Watford roads – temporary closure and turning manoeuvres

Herts County Council is intending to make an order to prohibit vehicles from using the following length of road to allow water connection works to take place:

- Ascot Road (northern arm), Watford from its junction with the access road leading to 'Premier Inn' south eastwards to its junction with the access road leading to 'Morrisons Car Park', a distance of approximately 293m, except for access.

- To prohibit vehicles from making a left turn manoeuvre from the access road leading to 'Premier Inn' into Ascot Road (northern arm), Watford, whilst works are in progress.

- To prohibit vehicles from making a left turn manoeuvre from the Ascot Road/Raven Close roundabout into Ascot Road (northern arm), Watford, whilst works are in progress.

- To prohibit vehicles from making a right turn manoeuvre from Ascot Road (northern arm) into the westbound carriageway of Ascot Road, Watford, whilst works are in progress.

- The existing one-way traffic system on that length of Ascot Road, Watford from its junction with the Raven Close roundabout south eastwards to its junction with the access road leading to 'Morrisons Supermarket', will be temporarily suspended to enable all traffic to travel in both directions within this length of road, whilst works are in progress.

If the order is made, it will take effect from August 19 and be valid for up to 18 months but the restrictions will only apply at times specified at or near the roads.

The Green, Croxley Green – temporary closure

The county council is intending to make an order to temporarily close The Green, Croxley Green, from its junction with New Road south westwards for a distance of approximately 29m to allow gas works to be carried out.

The order will come into force on August 19, if made, and be valid for up to 18 months but the restrictions will only apply at times shown on signs at or near the road.

White Hill, Rickmansworth – temporary closure

Proposed utility works mean Herts County Council is intending to make an order to prevent drivers from using White Hill, Rickmansworth from its junction with Northwood Road north eastwards for a distance of approximately 100m, except for access.

This order will also take effect on August 19, if made, and be valid for up to 18 months but the restrictions will only apply at times specified on signs at or near the location.

Grove Crescent, Croxley Green – temporary closure

Grove Crescent, Croxley Green, is set to be temporarily shut from a point 230m north east of its easternmost junction with Baldwins Lane north westwards for a distance of approximately 40m to allow utility service works to be carried out.

The Herts County Council order, if made, will be valid for up to 18 months from August 19 but the restrictions will only apply at times shown on signs at or near the road.
