Magistrates have banned a man from entering South Oxhey after he repeatedly stalked a woman on social media.
Karl Meers, 36, appeared at St Albans Magistrates’ Court yesterday (August 8) for sentencing over months of stalking between November 1 2022 and August 20 the following year.
Meers, of Osbourne Road in Dartford, was accused of watching his victim by monitoring her Snapchat account, taking a screenshot of it, and viewing her profile using new accounts which she had not blocked between April and August 2023.
He also contacted her via email in June 2023 and posted photographs and other material about her on his Instagram account in July and August of last year.

The 36-year-old had denied the accusations but changed his plea to guilty on one count of stalking without fear or alarm on July 9.
In court yesterday, he was handed a restraining order which banned him from entering South Oxhey or contacting the victim until August 2027.
As part of his two-year community order, Meers must also complete a 30-day rehabilitation activity, 30 days of an offenders’ programme, and carry out 135 hours of unpaid work.
