The final retailer that will be moving into a former department store in Watford’s biggest shopping centre has applied for permission to sell alcohol.

B&M’s application for a premises licence at atria Watford has been posted in the Public Notice Portal which is used to access all of the upcoming and recent information about various restrictions and notices.

Here are four notices we’ve rounded up which could affect residents in and around the Watford and Bushey areas:

Atria Watford – alcohol licence

The last business to move into the former John Lewis department store in atria Watford has applied for a licence to sell alcohol.

B&M Retail Ltd has applied to Watford Borough Council for the granting of a premises licence for B&M Store (former John Lewis), Unit E, atria Watford Shopping Centre, Watford WD17 2UB to allow “sales of alcohol and opening hours” from 7am to 11pm seven days a week.

Anyone wishing to make representations may do so in writing to Watford Licensing Authority, Town Hall, Watford WD17 3EX or by email to licensing@watford.gov.uk by August 7.

Olds Approach – goods vehicle licence

A baking company is seeking permission to use its Watford head office as the base for three goods vehicles.

Wenzels The Bakers Ltd, of Sunley House, Olds Approach, Watford WD18 9TB has applied for a goods vehicle operator’s licence to use this address as the operating centre for three vehicles.

Owners or occupiers of nearby land and premises wishing to make representations should do so in writing to the Traffic Commissioner at Hillcrest House, 386 Harehills Lane, Leeds LS9 6NF.

Bushey Heath – temporary road closures

Herts County Council is intending to make an order to prohibit vehicles from using the following lengths of road, except for access, to allow roadworks to take place:

- California Lane, Bushey Heath from its junction with Downalong south eastwards to its junction with Hartsbourne Road, a distance of approximately 368m.

- Giant Tree Hill, Bushey Heath from its junction with California Lane south westwards for a distance of approximately 25m.

- Florida Close, Bushey Heath from its junction with California Lane south westwards for a distance of approximately 25m.

If made, the order will take effect on August 9 and be valid for up to 18 months but the restrictions will only apply at times shown on or near the roads.

Eastbury Residents Association – charity plant sale

More than £1,000 was raised for a Watford-based homeless charity from a charity plant sale.

Eastbury Residents Association Summer Fair raised a total of £1,002.67 for New Hope UK at its plant sale on Sunday, June 30.
