Drivers using roads in and around Watford are likely to experience delays to their journeys due to planned closures and other works in upcoming weeks.

Clarendon Road and Aldenham Road, in Watford, as well as streets in Bushey and South Oxhey, are among the roads that are set to be shut at various times until the start of September, while roadworks are also scheduled to take place in busy roads including St Albans Road.

The following information is sourced from the One.Network website and is a selection of the works due to take place in the areas covered by the Watford Observer in the next few weeks:

- Watford Heath, Watford, will be closed to motorists from Monday to Friday for works by Affinity Water. A diversion will be in place and emergency access will be maintained at all times.

- Works by Virgin Media are likely to cause delays in St Albans Road, Watford, on Tuesday. Multi-way traffic lights will be in use at the junction with Brixton Road.

- Delays are likely in Orphanage Road, Watford, from 10am to 2pm on Tuesday and Wednesday due to bridge inspection works. Multi-way traffic lights will be in use while these are carried out.

- Langleybury Lane, Abbots Langley, will be shut to motorists from 9.30am to 4pm, from Wednesday to Friday, August 9 for roadworks. The closure will be from the junction with Old House Lane, St Paul’s Church gate, where the road surface changes. Emergency access will be maintained at all times.

- Clarendon Road, Watford, is due to be closed to vehicles from August 9 to August 12 for works by Affinity Water. One.Network does not specify the geographical extent of the closure but it is indicated at the junction with Woodford Road and Station Road.

- Aldenham Road, Watford, is due to be shut to vehicles from 8pm to 5am, from August 12 to August 14 for roadworks. Emergency access will be maintained and there will be a diversion route available.

- A section of Merry Hill Road, Bushey, is due to be closed from 8am to 4.30pm each day between August 12 and August 30 to allow pathway works to be carried out. The closure is due to apply from Victoria Road to the north boundary of Hayden Dell Farm. A diversion will be in place and emergency access will be maintained at all times.

- Gosforth Lane, South Oxhey, is set to be shut to vehicles from 8am on August 12 in a closure that is scheduled to last until 4.30pm on September 1 for roadworks. A diversion will be in place and emergency access will be maintained at all times.
