Two men have been arrested after armed police were called to reports of a weapon in Hemel Hempstead.
Herts Police have reassured the public that an increased presence that residents may have noticed in the town yesterday evening (July 31) was in response to what is being treated as “an isolated incident involving parties who are known to each other”.
Officers had been called to reports of a clash between a small group of males near The Heights, at around 5.50pm, in which a weapon had been seen. Those involved then left.

When the force arrived, including armed officers, they made enquiries at a nearby address and police arrested two men.
“No one was hurt and it is being treated as an isolated incident involving parties who are known to each other,” a police spokesperson said.
“Enquiries are continuing.”
