Another Watford Community Lottery prize has been claimed, with more than 100 players also winning smaller amounts.
Set up by Watford Borough Council in June 2023 to help charities, it has now seen its sixth winner of £250 and 106 players winning £25.
The unnamed winner is a regular player and supports Random Café, a pop-up café in Garsmouth Way that aims to reduce food waste. It will now receive 60p from each £1 lottery ticket bought by its supporters each week.
Since launching, the lottery has raised £34,290 for charities, and a £2,000 top prize has already been claimed.
Unlike national lottery games, the Watford version offers a weekly 1 in 50 chance of winning - with the £25,000 jackpot up for grabs.
Watford mayor Peter Taylor said: "The Watford Community Lottery continues to make a positive impact on the town, not only by fostering a sense of community spirit but also by generating funds that directly benefit local causes.
"This win further underscores what the lottery is all about, rewarding its participants, while supporting charitable endeavours that uplift the Watford community."
