Emergency services raced to the Meriden after concerns were raised for the welfare of a man on top of a 17-storey tower.
Locals questioned what was happening on social media after two police cars and a fire engine were seen in Garsmouth Way yesterday afternoon (July 29).
A Hertfordshire Police spokesperson has now confirmed they were called at 1.29pm over concerns for the man who was on top of Munden View - but it turned out to be a false alarm.
- Nine fire engines called to Abbey View 'barbecue' on 11th floor
- Gun discovered in farmland near the Meriden Estate
When officers and the fire service arrived, "it was ascertained that the man was a resident and was all in order", a force spokesperson said.
“We always appreciate people being vigilant and reporting things that concern them,” they added.
Locals had claimed the resident was sunbathing, which police declined to comment on when asked by the Watford Observer.
