Watford's MP has reacted to the A41 shooting after it was linked to violence that has plagued the area in recent weeks.
A man in his 20s is fighting for his life after being shot on the A41 - following which an 18-year-old was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to murder and a girl, 17, was arrested on suspicion of assisting offenders.
Police have since linked it to two stabbings within hours in Watford earlier this week - which they previously said were unrelated - and a man reportedly being chased with a gun through the town.
The new Labour MP told the Watford Observer: "These incidents are clearly very worrying and naturally, people are concerned.
"I’ve spoken with the police and they have assured me that everything is being done to apprehend those responsible and analyse the complete picture."

He urged anyone with information to contact the force.
Watford Chief Inspector Andy Wiseman added: “I understand news of this incident will be of concern to the community, and you can expect to see additional officers in the area as investigations are being carried out to determine the circumstances of what happened.
“The section of the A41 from Woodmere Avenue to the Berrygrove roundabout is to remain closed today until those investigations are concluded.”
The latest violence comes shortly after the area was rocked by the murders of Carol, Hannah and Louise Hunt in Bushey earlier this month.
