Two stabbings in Watford within two hours sparked an armed police manhunt before a teenager was arrested.
At around 12.15am yesterday (July 24) a man in his 20s suffered suspected stab wounds amid reports of an assault in Brocklesbury Close.
Residents may have noticed armed police searching parts of town today and Herts Police have confirmed that following “extensive enquiries”, including the searches, an 18-year-old man was arrested. He remains in custody at this time.

Less that two hours before the stabbing was reported, at 10.20pm, the force had been called to reports of an attack in Maeme’s takeaway in Clarendon Road.
Two people apparently entered a shop with weapons, believed to be knives, and assaulted a man. When officers found the victim, another man in his 20s, he was taken to hospital with a suspected stab wound.
Watford Chief Inspector Andy Wiseman said: “I appreciate these two incidents will be concerning to the local community.
“At this time, we do not believe the incidents are linked.
“Following an intensive investigation, an arrest has been made in connection with the assault in Brocklesbury Close and a suspect is in police custody at this time.
“We are continuing our efforts to identify those involved in the assault on Clarendon Road. You may see an increased police presence in the area whilst our enquiries continue.
“If anyone has any concerns, please don’t hesitate to speak with officers.”
