Magistrates sent a man to crown court after he was accused of strangling a woman multiple times in Rickmansworth.

Bradley McCarthy, of Marsh Lane in Aylesbury, appeared at High Wycombe Magistrates' Court and Family Court on July 15 over a range of alleged offences against the same victim.

The 37-year-old was charged with four counts of strangling her in Rickmansworth, Amersham and Aylesbury between September 7, 2023, and June 25.

He appeared at High Wycombe Magistrates' Court on July 15.

McCarthy was also accused of assault by beating, assault causing actual bodily harm, and damaging the victim’s car windscreen causing £340 worth of repairs.

He was also charged with sending her an indecent or offensive message and committing harassment causing fear, which allegedly involved "consistently calling and texting [the victim] being abusive and making threats of violence to her over an extended period of time”.

McCarthy did not enter a plea and he was remanded into custody before his next hearing at Aylesbury Crown Court on September 3.
