Patients have had their say on how helpful they find their GP surgery's reception staff - revealing overall which are the highest and lowest rated in and around Watford.

As part of the 2024 GP Patient Survey, residents were sent questionnaires and asked to rate their local practice’s reception and administrative team, as well as how easy it is to contact them on the phone.

The data showed that The Consulting Rooms in South Oxhey had the lowest rating around the town, with 26.6 per cent negative responses by patients compared to 75.8 per cent who said they were helpful.

Patients said the Vine House Health Centre in Abbots Langley and the Suthergrey House Medical Centre in Watford also had some of the lowest-rated reception staff as 25.1 per cent and 24.2 per cent found they were unhelpful respectively.

In contrast, staff at The Elms Surgery in Watford and Abbotswood Medical Centre in Abbots Langley were considered the best around the town with 90.9 per cent and 88.2 per cent of positive ratings compared to 9.1 per cent and 11.8 per cent negative.

Over half of patients at The Vine House and Suthergrey House GP practices found them to be the difficult to contact on the phone, with 57.8 per cent and 50.5 per cent of respondents respectively.

On the other hand, the Baldwins Lane Surgery in Croxley Green and the Chorleywood Health Centre were the easiest practices to speak to on the phone, with 82.6 per cent and 80.3 per cent of positive ratings each.
