There is over £1 million difference in house prices between Watford’s most expensive and cheapest streets, according to new research.
The top 10 most expensive streets all have seen the average house sell for over £1 million in the last five years, according to analysis of Land Registry figures by auctioneers Property Solvers.
Hempstead Road came top in the town as three properties have sold for an average of £1,255,833 since 2019, with Stratford Road coming in second at £1,189,166 and Rounton Close third at £1,148,750.
Property Solvers co-founder Ruban Selvanayagam noted that one house in Parkside Drive went for £1,851,000 in December 2023, although the street did not make it into the top 10 overall.
On the other end of the scale, the cheapest road to buy a property in was Lower High Street, where six homes sold for around £114,250.

St Johns Road and Sheepcot Lane also represented some of the best value for money with average property prices coming in at £137,587 and £164,941.
It comes after data from the Land Registry showed that Watford property prices rebounded 2.3 per cent in May, bringing the average value across the town to £387,277.
The rise did not however reverse the longer-term trend, which has seen property prices in the area suffer a 3.2 per cent annual decline.
