Watford mayor Peter Taylor, deputy leader of Three River District Council Sarah Nelmes, and Macmillan engagement manager Anton Morgan-Thorne were also among the key figures in attendance at Wednesday's event.

Enoch Kanagaraj, founder and chief executive of One Vision, praised the unity and collective strength in fighting cancer.

Harjit Singh DL, chair of trustees, said: "Today’s launch symbolises more than a partnership; it represents our unwavering dedication to our community.

"Together, with Macmillan Cancer Support, we are stronger and more equipped to bring comfort and hope to those who need it most."

Bep Dhaliwal and Sharon Platt-McDonald, sharing their personal experiences with cancer, brought attention to the importance of community support, compassion, and collaboration in fighting the disease.

These factors contribute significantly to the provision of comprehensive care.

The partnership was lauded for its potential to provide emotional, practical, and financial support, addressing the need for no one to face cancer alone.

Susannah Brunert, One Vision Macmillan cancer programme manager, said: "This partnership is a beacon of hope, demonstrating the incredible impact we can have when we come together for a common cause.

"It is an honour to be part of this journey."

Mr Morgan-Thorne emphasised the necessity of volunteer support for the programme.

He added: "This programme is absolutely vital for Macmillan, to be out there in the community, to be supporting people living with and affected by cancer, by empowering the community to be able to support themselves.

"As part of this programme, it is absolutely vital that we get volunteers to support us."

The mayor of Watford and the Three Rivers deputy leader also pledged their support, acknowledging that this initiative has the potential to transform lives within the community.

Mayor Taylor stated: "I’m so pleased this project is happening.

"Charities like Macmillan Cancer Support do so much to help people with cancer and their families.

"It is great that they are working with One Vision to make sure everyone in our community is supported through a difficult period in their life, receiving really important care and support."

The partnership received overwhelming endorsement from faith leaders as well, representing a unified front against cancer in the community.

The launch of this partnership marks the initial step of a positive journey towards a future where no one in the community feels left alone in their fight against cancer.
