A section of motorway near Watford is due to be shut to motorists overnight for roadworks and resurfacing works are set to cause disruption to town centre roads for a week.
The northbound carriageway of the M1 from Junction 5 to Junction 6A is due to be closed overnight from July 27 to July 29 for repair and reconstruction works.
Before then, overnight closures are due to start in Rickmansworth at 8pm on Tuesday for the resurfacing of Church Street and Talbot Road. These are due to continue until July 30.
The following information is sourced from the One.Network website and is a selection of the works due to take place over the coming weeks:
- Two-way traffic lights will be in use in Clarendon Road, Watford, on Saturday and Sunday for works by Affinity Water. The lights will be located near to the junction with Gartlet Road.
- Drivers are likely to experience delays in Beechen Grove, Watford, from Monday until August 2 when a lane will be closed. This is due to the construction of a new lay bay at the rear of Nos. 37 to 39 Clarendon Road.
- Church Street, Rickmansworth, will be closed to motorists from 8pm to 5am, from Tuesday to July 30, for resurfacing works in Church Street and Talbot Road. The closure will be in operation from the junction of Riverside Drive to the junction of High Street but emergency access will be maintained at all times. A diversion will be in operation.
- Part of Northway, Rickmansworth, will be shut from 8pm to 5am, from Tuesday to July 30, to assist with the resurfacing in Church Street. The closure will be in place from the junction of High Street to the mini roundabout.
- A section of the M1 near Watford will be closed overnight on from July 27 to July 29 for roadworks. The motorway will be shut northbound from Junction 5 to Junction 6A for reconstruction and repair works. The closure will be in operation from 10pm to 6am overnight on the Saturday and 10.30pm to 5.30pm on the Sunday. Drivers will be diverted via local authority roads.
- Part of St Albans Road, Watford, will be closed on July 28 for works by Openreach. The closure is due to be in place from 7am to 3pm to allow the work to take place at the junction with Bedford Street. A diversion will be in operation but emergency access will be maintained at all times.
- High Street, Rickmansworth, will be shut to vehicles from 8am to 5pm on July 28 to allow a monthly market to be held. The closure will be in place from the junction of Church Street to the junction of Station Road.
- Delays are likely in Hempstead Road, Watford, from July 29 to August 5 due to roadworks. Two-way traffic lights will be located outside No. 44.
