Assistant headteacher Roxy Batliwala and headteacher Raj Khindey organised the event to celebrate Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI).

Ms Batliwala said: "We started doing weekly in-class assemblies this year to educate our pupils on some of the protected characteristics: race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, age and disability to address prejudice-based incidents and to ensure that our pupils not only feel that they are included and belong, but that they leave our school as tolerant, accepting and kind individuals, who celebrate others’ differences.

"These lessons have provided pupils with the tools and vocabulary to make sense of the diverse community around them."

The event involved an obstacle course, where pupils navigated hurdles, an egg and spoon race, and tightrope challenges, all whilst being showered in colourful powder by members of the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) and teachers.

Mrs Khindey said: "Our first ever colour run on Wednesday was a fantastic event, the children thoroughly enjoyed themselves.

"At the end of the Colour Run, Roxy Batliwala, who oversees EDI, shared our new EDI statement with the parent community.

"This is available to view on our school website."
